Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Air Cadet Organisation is one of the largest and oldestĀ operating authorities of the Duke Of Edinburghs Awards.

The Award is a big part of our time at the Squadron. We try to get every Cadet involved at every possible level, in all sections. Sports, Skill, Service, Expedition (and Residential for Gold) can all be covered by the activities that the Squadron carries out regularly.

We traditionally start the cadets off at Bronze level, but if they are old enough and are also doing a section of the award with school, then we will adapt the training to suit.

The squadron regularly goes away on training weekends, teaching the critical Expedition skills that they will need, and will help them every step of the way.

In addition the squadron has been recognised as helping a large portion of cadets achieve their awards as they progress through their Cadet career.

Sidcup Squadron, like many in the Air Cadets Organisation, has fully qualified staff to ensure the Cadets have everything they need to rise above the rest and achieve their DEA goals.
